Regenerated Nylon
At the start of our brand launch in 2019, THE DAYS SWIMWEAR had a clear objective in mind : To utilize a revolutionary fabric that supports the removal of marine debris from our oceans. We manufacture sustainable swimwear made of nylon waste such as recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets that have been recovered from our lands and oceans. By regenerating waste, we’re not only making it new again but we’re saving an abundance of precious, finite resources and energy while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions.
We stand behind the luxurious hand feel of our regenerated Nylon courtesy of ECONYL brand, as it is of superior quality. What is ECONYL? ECONYL, created by Italian firm Aquafil, uses synthetic waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric and fishing nets from oceans, recycles and regenerates them into a new nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon.

OUR APPAREL
Non-Toxic Printing Process
Our Apparel Material & Fabric Suppliers :
We have hand selected a few amazing partners to bring our apparel to life. First being Bella & Canvas, because we like the way they do business [with a heart] here in the USA. Read more about their LA based, ethical manufacturing process here. Our second partner supplies us with only the best raw materials for our sweatshirts and basic tees. We choose plant based fibers such as Bamboo and hemp, ensuring the mill is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. What does that mean though? It is a worldwide consistent, independent testing & certification system that tests for harmful substances used during all stages of production (raw materials, intermediate and end product). This includes testing for illegal substances, legally regulated substances, know harmful chemicals and other parameters for health care. It provides manufacturers with a uniform benchmark when evaluating harmful substances potentially used in the production process. Extensive product checks and regular company audits also ensure that the industry has a golbally sustainable awareness of the responsible use of chemicals.

Our Screenprinting Process : Our NJ-based partner is doing it right! We print all of our designs with non-toxic, water based ink. Prints are smooth to the touch, and easy on the environment - unlike plastic-based apparel inks. What makes water-based ink better for our planet? As a compound, water-based ink is much more gentle on the environment than plastisol (standard) printing ink. It simply does not contain any of the toxic chemicals of its plastisol counterparts (no PVC, no phthalates). While most plastisol inks are now pthalate-free, that still doesn’t make them the most eco-friendly option out there. Being made from a mixture of PVC resin and plasticiser, they’re still far from being environmentally friendly at all. Water-based inks on the other hand, are completely free of PVC resin or plasticiser, and with Permaset’s range of inks are also completely free of harmful ozone depleting chemicals and aromatic hydrocarbons. Now that’s what you call eco-friendly! Because they are free from harmful chemicals, water-based inks are safe not just for the environment but for printers to use as well. There are no harsh chemicals or solvents that the user can inhale, and they wash up easily in water.

We work with some of the greatest factories in the NY/NJ garment industry and Tri State area to bring you the highest quality and most ethically created clothing. As we all know, overseas production has taken its toll on American manufacturing, jobs, and preserving our history! Which is why there was no hesitation on our end to produce a sustainable brand proudly made in the USA!

We personally visit our factories multiple times during every season to ensure that the factory is a clean, safe, and respectful work environment. The owners of the factories are amazing, and the garment workers are incredibly talented and, of course, paid well and treated absolutely ethically!

On top of that, our factories provide full transparency in the manufacturing process - we have insight each step of the way on a "digitized" grid, leaving no room for guess work from sample stage through to production.
